Driving Legends Student/Parent Requirements & Policies

Students enrolling in driver’s ed in NH must be at least 15 years and 9 months on the first day of class.  Students must provide a copy of their birth certificate, passport or government ID to prove their date of birth.

Passing the class requires :

1. 30 hours classroom instruction.  The state of NH requires that no student can miss more than 2 classes.  If you miss more than 2 classes you will be asked to leave the class without a refund.
2. 10 hours satisfactorily completed driving instruction, and a minimum 6 hours of in car observation with Driving Legends.
3. 40 hours of driving practice with parent or guardian (a minimum of 10 hours at night). Students will be required to document the hours of driving so they can be submitted to the state.
4. Complete homework assignments, quizzes and tests… must have overall passing grade of 80%.
5. Students are expected to arrive on time, respect others in the class, participate and respect Driving Legends property. Students are expected to turn-off and put away cell phones… no texting in class is allowed.  Reimbursement will be required for intentional damage to Driving Legends property.   Disciplinary action for disrespectful behavior includes a call to parents, and/or removed from the class and/or program without refund.
6. Students are expected to arrive on-time to meet the driving instructor. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.   Neglecting to cancel on time and missing a lesson will result in a $65 no-show fee for each hour missed.
7. Driving instruction is on a first come, first serve basis.  Students are expected to begin driving the first two weeks of classes and complete driving hours in a timely manner. Any student that repeatedly refuses to drive due to personal reasons, work, sports, etc.  may be removed from the program without refund if students don’t make appropriate accommodations to complete the program.
8. Vision:  a vision screening will be done the first night of class. To be eligible to drive all students must have 20/40 vision (with or without glasses or contact lens) in order to operate a car.
9. Textbook: students will be given a copy of the text book Responsible Driving to use.  Textbooks should be returned before the last day of class in reasonably good condition as they received it.  Replacement costs for a damaged or lost textbook is $75 and must be paid before student receives certificate of completion
10. Class Cancellations:  occasionally scheduled classes must be cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.  Every effort will be made to contact you by the phone number or email you provided, and the class will be rescheduled for a later date.

Payments: a deposit of $350 is due at the time of registration to hold your place.  We accept checks, credit card (online) and cash.  Checks should be mailed to Driving Legends NH, 5 Ledge Rd. Suite #1, Windham, NH 03848.   The remaining balance is due no later than the first night of class. Checks that are returned for insufficient funds are subject to a $75 fee. Once we confirm your reserved place for the class you have selected, the deposit becomes non-refundable and non-transferable.  The deposit, however, may be applied to a later class if space is available and at least two weeks notice is given in advance.

I acknowledge there are risks involved in operating a motor vehicle  and acknowledge that even after the student receives a certificate of completion from  Driving Legends, continued parental support and adult supervision is necessary for the student’s continued success to become a Responsible Driver.
